SEO Manager

We are looking for someone to sit in the trenches with us that is as crazy as we are about exceeding expectations under unrealistic deadlines with minimal direction. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and managing inbound content marketing strategies as well as a knack for data, KPI’s and reporting complex information in a clear and concise manner. We need someone with a passion for developing proven content and digital strategies focused on providing quantifiable results and the will power to see them through to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Research and select highly targeted, effective keywords. Track performance of rankings, traffic referral sources, etc. Find out what works and build on it. Also, identify any changes in traffic rankings and investigate why.
  • Build the most effective, high-quality links possible from relevant sites that yield real, proven results.
  • Manage a bench of writers and other contract roles to meet deadlines while creating valuable, engaging, relevant articles to aid in link building but also to trigger audience sharing.
  • Work in collaboration with our web team to continually improve on-page optimization.
  • Maintain a cycle-based strategy of content creation and implementation.
  • Measure engagement and develop community interaction with the brands we represent.
  • Grow and manage brand reputation.
  • Track mentions of company/brand/product in SERPs, social channels, etc. Identify risks, threats as well as opportunities and respond appropriately.
  • Create conversations and participate in community discussions to help build authority for our brands.
  • Determine the relationship between a client’s social media and SEO should look like.
  • Develop, execute and manage PPC, and social media campaigns with a focus on providing engaging and communicative reporting.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reports of our SEO efforts to deliver to clients outlining progress and engagement.
  • Stay up-to-date with SEO trends, algorithm changes and the current state of SEO in general.
  • Maintain and improve Station8’s SEO, SEM, and Digital marketing efforts.
  • Provide innovative direction and management of content creation, page updates and new avenues to boost overall position and traffic.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience with proven success in SEO/SEM, account and project management
  • Basic understanding of how to use social media in tandem with SEO
  • Full knowledge of Google's recent algorithm changes
  • Prior experience and high-level working knowledge of inbound content marketing, SEO practices and the experience implementing SEM campaigns
  • Passion for research, statistics, and further learning
  • Ability to interpret data and underlying meanings. ie. Identifying trends, possible opportunities for content creation, UX/UI implications, etc.
  • Solid understanding of how SEO and SEM work in tandem
  • Solid grasp/experience with PPC and social retargeting campaigns
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
  • Outstanding ability to think creatively and strategically, and to collaboratively resolve problems
